The Arc Raiders "Snap and Salvage" quest has four steps, completable in any order, but all of which are somewhat tricky. It's part of the Stella Montis questline, so as you'd expect, you need to head to the most hostile map in the game (so far, anyway) to complete these.
"Snap and Salvage" involves successfully extracting with two specific items, a Magnetron and Flow Controller, along with visiting and interacting with two objects at fixed locations. Here's a complete breakdown of 'Snap and Salvage' in Arc Raiders.
As mentioned, there are four objectives to complete in 'Snap and Salvage':
The first two require you to simply go to the specific locations and interact with the right thing, and if you're well acquainted with Stella Montis, chances are you know where to find the rovers already as they're hard to miss. Then, you need to cross your fingers you get lucky with loot for the second two, and you need to extract successfully… much easier said than done on a map like this.
For this objective, you want to head to either the Robotic Sandbox A or B locations, marked on the lower section of the in-game map. You'll find a couple of rovers beached in the sand. Simply approach one and interact with it to snap a photo and complete the objective. Watch out for the turret that sometimes spawns on the wall above these interplanetary explorers and the Shredder that often patrols the area.
Next up, you want to head to the Security Bridge location on the upper floors of Stella Montis, directly north of the Lobby. To the right-hand side of the "Security Bridge" text on the map, you'll find a breachable door marked "Security - Restricted Access."
Head inside and on the counter, you'll find a stack of papers you can search. Again, keep an eye out for Arc enemies — or other players — spotting you through the long window running around the top of the wall.
Finally, you need to find both a Magnetron and a Flow Controller. These aren't quest-specific items which means you may well have found them before, and since they're tagged as Exodus items, there's no specific locations to head for.
Essentially, you need to cross your fingers and loot as much as you can in Stella Montis. The higher-tier loot areas, such as Storage Room and Medical Research are worth prioritizing, along with the Assembly Workshops due to how many containers it has in close proximity. Night raids also have a higher chance of spawning those items.
Of course, you need to deliver these back to Tian Wen, which means getting them out successfully. Stella Montis can often be brutal to try and extract, so we'd recommend taking in an augment with a safe pocket or two in case you die. If you don't have one, or you want to extract safely anyway, the Seed Vault extract is typically the easiest to defend since it only has two routes to approach.
